Our school is a safe, supportive, inclusive, caring school with high expectations for all.
We are a TEAM where Together Everyone Achieves More.
Our values of Responsibility, Respect and Resilience are the corner stones of everything that we do.
We pride ourselves on the holistic development of each student. To facilitate this we have developed a Junior Secondary Structure where students have key teachers for core subjects. This enables a more meaningful relationship to develop between teachers and students.
Each student is allocated a mentor teacher (UTU) who will work with the student for the six years of high school. This close monitoring and mentoring produces outstanding individualised results.
In the Senior School we have placed a priority on flexible pathways to cater for the future aspirations of individual students. This includes offering students a course of study which best meets their needs. We offer a very diverse range of Certificate options along with a broad range of General and Applied subjects.
We acknowledge and recognise Excellence in Academic, Sporting, The Arts and STEM through our iXL programs that students can apply for each year. These signature programs provide mentoring specialised coaching and partnerships with the wider community.
The strength of Northern Beaches SHS as a school lies with its people. We have some of the best teachers in the state and the support staff are second to none. They are professional, dedicated and have high expectations of themselves to provide the best learning opportunities and environment for each and every child.
Northern Beaches SHS offers a disciplined learning environment in which students are supported and expected to take ownership of their learning and actions. Students are encouraged to bring out their individual talents, explore new areas of undiscovered talent and to strive to do their best. We have high expectations of our students.
We enjoy a very supportive relationship with our parents and community. This is reflected in our recent School Opinion Surveys where 100% parents indicated that their child is getting a good education at this school and teachers at this school expect their child to do his or her best.
In the end success at school involves hard work and commitment. As a Principal of the school, I am committed to developing a first class education system that meets the unique needs of your child.
I look forward to welcoming you into our school community & TEAM. I encourage your participation in daily school life and firmly believe that we are in partnership with parents/guardians to attain the best possible outcomes for your student.
